Landlord in foreclosure.?

My landlord is in foreclosure with an auction date of March 16, 2011. She told me today that the bank told her they would reinstate the loan last week (why I had to call to find out any info is beyond me) and that in 2 weeks the sale date would be canceled. My question is does it really take that long to cancel an auction date? Also is their any way I can find out if she is telling me the truth? I already contacted the trustee office and they say nothing has changed. Will the bank give me any information? I looked at a house today and would like to know if I can take the house or wait it out with my landlord. I just want to know if they are telling me the truth. They lied to me before about getting letters from a lawyer to our address and saying they were for a car accident when I knew the lawyer only did foreclosures for Chase (I watch the news and do my homework). I am still paying rent and have no intentions of stopping. Also if I find a home before March 16 can I break my lease since they are going to lose the house anyway? I have 3 kids and I need to know what is going on for their sake and I do know that the bank will honor our lease, I just don't want to rent from Fannie Mae (have heard horror stories). Any information would be greatly appreciated.
