Why do fundamentalist never listen to what other people say?

I am an Eclectic Wiccan and really why they never listen? All they do is saying "Jesus is the lord and saviour" and "You are going to hell". They just "smote" others. Why? Are they so afraid that if they listen to others' beliefs they will doubt about theirs and abandon it? Are they just too stupid? Please, answer! (Fundies especially!)
